Les deux derni\u00e8res d\u00e9cennies ont vu l'approfondissement du processus de mondialisation alors que la pauvret\u00e9 et la faim dans le monde ont \u00e9t\u00e9 fortement r\u00e9duites. N\u00e9anmoins, le r\u00f4le de la politique commerciale internationale dans l'am\u00e9lioration de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire et nutritionnelle des 795 millions de personnes sous-aliment\u00e9es restantes reste l'objet d'un d\u00e9bat intense et de longue date.<\/p>\n

Ce lancement permettra de discuter de la relation entre le syst\u00e8me commercial mondial et la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire, en mettant l'accent sur le Programme de Doha pour le d\u00e9veloppement de l'OMC et sur la question des instruments commerciaux et\u00a0 la volatilit\u00e9 des prix alimentaires.<\/p>\n

IFPRI Dakar office is pleased to invite you to its conference series \u201cStrategy and Development Roundtables\u201d (SDR) in partnership with ISRA and DAPSA\u00a0 the Dakar launch of Agriculture, Development, and the Global Trading System.<\/p>\n

The last two decades have seen the deepening of the globalization process while worldwide poverty and hunger have been strongly reduced. Still, the international trade policy\u2019s role in improving food and nutrition security for the world\u2019s remaining 795 million undernourished people remains the subject of a long-standing and intense debate.
\nThis book launch will discuss the relationship between the global trading system and food security, with a focus on the WTO\u2019s Doha Development Agenda and whether trade instruments can manage food price volatility.<\/p>\n
