With a specific focus on Trade, this report is a first in Africa as it gives a comprehensive analysis around the main challenges and opportunities that could work in favor or hinder Regional Trade throughout Africa.
“At a time when the global trade system is facing new threats, we hope this report will provide policy actors with the tools they need to position Africa effectively to better engage in and benefit from agricultural trade,” said Shenggen Fan, director-general of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI).
This report jointly launched by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and the Center for Technical and Rural Cooperation (CTA) is exposing African countries’ Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), highlighting the best performances in terms of exports.
The report is also providing elements to understand the potentialities for Africa Trade out of the « Trade War » between China and the USA.
