PICAGL Project

Title:

INTEGRATED PROJECT ON AGRICULTURAL GROWTH IN THE GREAT LAKES REGION

Description:

The project benefits about 200,000 households living in the Bukavu-Uvira-Fizi-Kalemie corridor. The expected outcome is development of cassava value chain and cassava-based production system.

The Integrated Project on Agricultural Growth in the Great Lakes region (PICAGL) aims to increase agricultural productivity and marketing in targeted areas in the DRC, improve regional integration in the agricultural sector, and provide an immediate and effective response to a crisis or declared emergency. The project benefits about 200,000 households living in the Bukavu-Uvira-Fizi-Kalemie corridor. The expected outcome is development of cassava value chain and cassava-based production system. IFPRI’s main involvement in this multiple stakeholders’ project led by the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) include impact evaluation of interventions implemented by partners within the project.
