IFPRI Webinar: Strategic Implementation Priorities for the CAADP Kampala Declaration
📅 Date: November 26, 2025
🕒 Time: 3:30–5:00 PM EAT - 12:30–2:00 PM GMT - 8:30–10:00 AM EDT
Background and Rationale
The CAADP Kampala Declaration and Associated Strategy and Action Plan (2026–2035) mark a pivotal moment in Africa’s agrifood systems transformation. The new CAADP implementation cycle renews commitment to CAADP’s foundational principles while charting a bold, forward-looking strategy for agrifood systems transformation over the next decade.
But declarations alone are not enough. The challenge now is strategic implementation:
- How can this next phase of CAADP be made operational, effective, and impactful?
- How can African governments and partners translate such policy ambition into real progress especially in a context of fiscal constraints, climate shocks, and fragility?
This webinar brings together leading voices across the continent and beyond to reflect on these questions and spotlight priority actions for implementation, grounded in evidence, experience, and strategic realism.
Objectives
- Frame the implementation challenge for the CAADP Kampala Declaration within current political, economic, and climate contexts
- Highlight strategic priorities and operational entry points for turning the Declaration into action
- Showcase emerging practices and innovations that can be scaled or adapted across countries
- Foster alignment and momentum among African and global actors as the execution phase is scheduled to start in January 2026
